Connect your WhatsApp number

Boldally Chat connects to your own WhatsApp Business Account through Meta's sign-in flow. You never paste an API token.

Who can do this

  • Owner
  • Admin

Agents cannot see Settings › WhatsApp.

Before you start

  • An active Boldally Chat subscription. Connecting is blocked before payment.
  • A Facebook account you can sign in with. A personal account works.
  • A phone number that can receive an SMS or a voice call.
  • The number must not be on WhatsApp. If it is on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, delete the account from that app first, then wait about two minutes.

Connect

  1. Go to SettingsWhatsApp. You will see Bring your number online with the three prerequisites listed.

  2. Select Continue with Facebook. Meta's window opens.

  3. Sign in to Facebook, then follow Meta's steps: choose or create a Meta Business portfolio, choose or add your phone number, and verify it by SMS or call.

If you have no Meta Business portfolio, Meta creates one during this flow.

  4. When Meta finishes, the window closes and Boldally Chat stores the connection. SettingsWhatsApp switches to the connected dashboard.

Your WhatsApp Business Account ID, phone number and access are configured automatically. Nothing else to paste.

Check the connection

The connected screen shows a status strip with four cells. Look at all four before you start messaging.

CellWhat good looks likeIf it is wrong
SendingLiveSee status values below.
VerificationVerifiedMeta business verification. Sending still works but is capped.
Meta paymentActiveAdd a payment method in Meta Business Manager, or sends will start failing.
Messaging limitA tier such as 1,000 / 24hMeta raises this on its own as your quality stays high.

The WABA ID and Meta Business ID are shown here with copy buttons. Meta support and Boldally support both ask for them, so this is where to get them.

What the sending status means

StatusMeaning
LiveMeta reports no active blockers.
Live · throttledSending works, capped at the unverified tier until Meta verifies your business.
Outbound onlyThe webhook subscription failed, so incoming messages may be delayed. Contact support.
LimitedNo Meta payment method. Messages will fail once you hit the free allowance.
RestrictedA Meta verification problem is blocking some message types.

Sync from Meta in the top right pulls fresh status, phone numbers, display name and messaging limit from Meta. Use it after you change anything on Meta's side.

Add the Meta payment method

Meta bills you directly for template messages. Without a payment method on the WhatsApp Business Account, sending fails once you pass Meta's free allowance.

From the Meta payment cell, select Open in Meta Business Manager and add a card there. Come back and select Sync from Meta to refresh the status.

Business verification

Until Meta verifies your business, your messaging limit stays at the unverified tier. Verification happens entirely in Meta Business Manager; Boldally cannot submit it for you. Once Meta approves it, select Sync from Meta so the status here catches up.

If the number does not go active

A connected number can sit in a non-active state. The most common cause is two-step verification left on for that number (Meta error #133005).

Fix it in Meta: WhatsApp Manager → Account tools → Phone numbers, select the number, turn Two-step verification off. Then come back and use Sync from Meta, or Disable and Enable the number.
