Subscription states and access
Your subscription state decides one thing above all: whether Boldally Chat will send outbound WhatsApp messages. Incoming messages keep arriving in every state.
Who can do this
- Owner
Only owners see billing detail, but every member feels the effect.
The states
| State shown in the app | What happened | Can you send? |
|---|---|---|
| Awaiting payment | New workspace, first charge has not cleared | No. Everything redirects to the plan picker. |
| Active | Paid and current | Yes |
| Payment failed | A charge failed and Razorpay is retrying | Yes, this is a grace period |
| Suspended (billing) | Retries are exhausted | No |
| Cancelling | You cancelled; the period has not ended | Yes, until the period ends |
| Suspended | Set by Boldally | No |
"Send" here means outbound: replies, templates, campaigns, automations and message retries.
What still works when sending is blocked
- Incoming customer messages arrive and appear in the inbox.
- You can read history, take notes, assign, tag and close conversations.
- Contacts, templates and settings are all readable.
So a billing problem never loses you customer messages. It stops you answering them.
Banners
A banner appears across the app, hidden on the billing page itself:
| State | Banner |
|---|---|
| Payment failed | "Your last payment failed. Update your payment method to avoid an interruption." |
| Suspended (billing) | "Your billing failed — outbound messages are paused. Update your payment to resume sending." |
| Suspended | "This workspace is suspended. Contact support." |
| Cancelling | "Your subscription is set to end. Re-subscribe to keep sending after it expires." |
| Ended | "Your subscription has ended. Re-subscribe to resume sending." |
Owners get a Manage billing button on the banner.
Fixing a failed payment
-
Go to SettingsBilling.
-
Check the state on the status card and the entries under Invoices & payments.
-
Razorpay retries automatically during Payment failed. If the card is the problem, the reliable fix is to subscribe again with a working method rather than waiting out the retries.
-
If it is still stuck, contact support with your workspace name and the date of the failed charge.
After cancelling
Access continues to the end of the paid period. When it ends, outbound sending stops. Your data is still there and subject to your plan's retention rules; see data retention. Subscribing again restores sending.
