Campaigns
A campaign sends one approved template to many contacts. It is the broadcast tool.
Who can do this
- Owner
- Admin
- Agent
Before you start
- An approved template. Campaigns can only send approved templates. See message templates.
- At least one enabled WhatsApp number.
- Contacts. The Schedule and Send now buttons are disabled when the audience would reach nobody.
- An active subscription. Sending is blocked otherwise. See subscription states.
Create a campaign
Campaigns → New Campaign.
-
Choose a template. Only approved templates are listed.
-
Name the campaign. A name is suggested from the template; edit it if you want. This is for you, not the customer.
-
Choose the WhatsApp number to send from. This step only appears when more than one number is enabled.
-
Choose the audience:
- All contacts
- By tags, then pick one or more tags
-
Fill in template variables. If the template has
{{1}},{{2}}and so on, you give each one a value. The same value goes to everyone in this campaign. -
Check the Preview on the right, which renders the message as WhatsApp will show it.
-
Choose what happens next:
- Save draft, and nothing is sent
- Schedule, then pick a date and time
- Send now
Who actually receives it
The recipient list is worked out when the campaign is sent, not when you build it. Boldally Chat excludes:
- Blocked contacts, always.
- Unsubscribed contacts, when the template's category is Marketing. Utility and authentication templates still reach them.
So the number sent to can be lower than the number of contacts carrying the tag. That is the opt-out handling working.
Your plan also caps how many contacts a single broadcast can reach. Over the cap, the send is refused with a message saying so.
:::caution One value for everyone Template variables in a campaign take a single value for the whole send. There is no per-contact merge field such as a first name in a campaign today. If you need per-customer values, use an automation, which maps variables from event data. :::

Results
The campaigns list is a table with Recipients, Delivered and Read per campaign, plus the template, audience and date. Open a campaign for its detail, including per-recipient outcomes.
Aggregate numbers across all campaigns are on the analytics page.
Reading them:
- Recipients: how many the campaign was sent to after exclusions.
- Delivered: reached the device. A gap here usually means invalid numbers or people who never had WhatsApp on that number.
- Read: opened. A low read rate on a good delivery rate is a message problem, not a delivery problem.
Sending well
- Send to a tag, not to everyone. Relevance is what keeps your quality rating up, and quality is what raises your messaging limit.
- Watch your messaging limit. Meta caps how many unique customers you can start a conversation with per rolling 24 hours. Your current tier is on SettingsWhatsApp.
- Expect replies. A broadcast to 2,000 people produces inbound messages, each one opening a 24-hour window. Staff the inbox for the hour after you send.
- Give people a way out. A line such as "Reply STOP to opt out" in marketing templates reduces reports and blocks, which is what protects your rating.
