WhatsApp Connection Issues

Common problems when connecting your WhatsApp number and how to fix them.

Number Already Registered

Problem: Your phone number is already registered on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.

Solution:

  1. Open WhatsApp Business on your phone
  2. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
  3. Confirm deletion
  4. Wait 2 minutes for the number to be released
  5. Return to Boldally Chat and try connecting again

Meta Business Portfolio Not Found

Problem: During Embedded Signup, you can't find or create a Meta Business Portfolio.

Solution:

  • Make sure you're logged into the correct Facebook account
  • Visit business.facebook.com and create a Business Portfolio manually
  • Return to Boldally Chat and try connecting again

Verification Code Not Received

Problem: You're not receiving the SMS or voice call to verify your phone number.

Solution:

  • Make sure the phone number is active and can receive SMS
  • Try the voice call option instead of SMS
  • Check that the number doesn't have call/SMS blocking enabled
  • Wait a few minutes and retry

Embedded Signup Errors

Problem: The Meta Embedded Signup flow shows an error or doesn't load.

Solution:

  • Disable browser ad blockers and privacy extensions temporarily
  • Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
  • Clear browser cache and cookies
  • Make sure you're not using a VPN that blocks Meta services

Number Shows as "Flagged" or "Restricted"

Problem: After connecting, your number's quality rating drops and messaging is limited.

Causes:

  • Recipients are reporting or blocking your messages
  • Sending too many marketing messages to uninterested contacts
  • Template content doesn't match what recipients expect

Solution:

  • Review your template content and targeting
  • Send to opted-in contacts only
  • Reduce campaign frequency
  • Monitor your quality rating in Settings > WhatsApp
