Quick messages
Saved replies for the answers you give every day. They are shared across the workspace, so one person writing a good one helps everybody.

:::info Where they live Quick messages are managed inside the inbox composer, not in Settings. There is no separate Settings page for them. :::
Use one
Two ways, both from an open conversation:
- Type
/at the start of the message box. The picker opens and filters as you keep typing. - Select the lightning button in the composer toolbar.
Then:
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| ↑ ↓ | Move through the list |
| Enter | Insert the highlighted one |
| Esc | Close the picker |
The text drops into the composer. Edit it before sending if you want; nothing is sent automatically.
If the quick message has media attached, the file appears as an attachment chip too, so you can review or re-caption it before sending.
Create one
-
Open the picker (lightning button or
/). -
Select + to open the create form.
-
Give it a title. This is what you search for.
-
Write the content.
-
Optionally attach a file with the paperclip.
-
Save.
It is immediately available to everyone in the workspace.
Delete one
Select the bin icon on a quick message in the picker and confirm.
Quick messages are not templates
Easy to mix up. They are different things:
| Quick message | Message template | |
|---|---|---|
| Approved by Meta | No | Yes, before first use |
| Can be sent outside the 24-hour window | No | Yes |
| Charged by Meta as a template | No | Yes |
| Where you manage it | The inbox composer | The Templates section |
| Good for | Fast answers during a live chat | Starting or re-opening a conversation |
If the composer is disabled because the window has closed, a quick message will not help. You need a template. See the 24-hour service window.
What to save
The test is whether you have typed it more than twice this week. Common ones:
- Business hours and holiday closures
- Where to find pricing or a size guide
- Payment and refund policy in one paragraph
- The exact list of details you need to look up an order
- A directions message with the location photo attached
Related
- Replying to customers
- The rest of what the composer does.
- Message templates
- For messages that start or re-open a conversation.
